The Attic Room

Attics are some of our favourite spaces. They carry a secret, tucked-away charm and, in period homes, are often the most characterful corners - full of hidden nooks and quirks. For this family, we imagined a playful children’s hideaway: a cosy twin room, set beneath the rafters. A third pull-out trundle bed offers an additional sleeping spot, while keeping the floorspace open for play.

We proposed tongue-and-groove panelling across the ceiling, finished in Zoffany ‘Perfect White’. We paired this with a sisal-look carpet for added texture and warmth. Navy and rope accents give a subtle nod to the maritime influence, while thoughtful storage keep toys neatly in place. Light yet snug, the room feels calm and settled by day. As the evening draws in, pillows, blankets and books beckon; the perfect setting for sleepovers - full of whispered secrets and midnight feasts.
