The Galley Kitchen

For this project, we were invited to reimagine our client’s compact galley kitchen. The existing space was dark and narrow, so the priority was to draw in as much light as possible and create a greater sense of openness. We developed this scheme to feel timeless and airy - with a clean, elegant aesthetic to enhance the proportions of the room.

In-frame joinery was proposed, combining slab and shaker fronts for subtle variation and depth; all painted in Farrow and Ball ‘Strong White’. We proposed a wide-plank engineered wood flooring in a bleached white oak - laid to draw the eye to the range oven, that was set against a plaster finished backsplash for added dimension. Brushed brass cabinetry hardware and considered accessories were introduced to add character, without overwhelming the space. A sheer window treatment softly filters daylight, creating a space that’s perfect for nurturing kitchen herbs, alongside everyday cooking.
